Luanda, 01/02 - Angola Armed Forces (Faa) recently captured a considerable quantity of war material from the country`s northern Cabinda enclave independentist movements "Flec-Renovada" and "Flec-Fac", Angop has learned. #
Of the weapons seized, stress goes to a B-3 cannon, Akm-37 and G-3 automatic rifles, anti-personal landmines and other explosives.
The war material was captured during a Faa clean-up operation in the southern and northern regions of the Cabinda province, aimed at keeping the populations security and tranquility.#
Faa intervention in the region is justified with the need to restore State administration throughout the province as a means to secure free flow of people and goods.
Populations that were in the "Flec-Renovada" and "Flec-Fac" controlled areas praised the Faa drive saying there is no reasoning in a citizen living in the bush deprived of freedom to move at present.
Meanwhile, two "Flec-Renovada" officers captured during the operation expressed satisfaction at the treatment they are receiving from "Faa", and voiced regret at the time they wasted in the bush.
They are Maj. Alexandre Nhiami "Povo" and Cap. António Tigre Mambo, who were in charge of relevant posts within the Flec/Renovada ranks.
They appealed to all their colleagues who are still in the jungle to quit fighting and surrender to Government authorities as, they added, the reorganisation of the various Cabinda independentist factions is far from being attained.
