President Jose Eduardo dos Santos (right) swears in three new ambassadors
Luanda, 09/28 - The Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, on Wednesday in Luanda swore in the new ambassadors to Switzerland, Apolinário Jorge Correia, to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Ana Maria Teles Carreira, and to India, António da Costa Fernandes.
In the Presidential Palace, a ceremony attended by government officials, among otherindividualities, the diplomats vowed to be loyal to the country, respect its Laws and carry outthe functions to which they were nominated.
José Eduardo dos Santos wished to the newly- appointed ambassadors good health and success in executing their duties.
To journalists, at the end of the audience, Ana Maria Carreira said that she will "do all in order to carry out good diplomacy. It will be a very gratifying mission".
Ana Maria Carreira was the former ambassador to India.
On his turn, Apolinário Correia stated that his "work will focus on the objectives outlined bythe government" which, among other aspects, are related to the strengthening of bilateral relations.
"We shall work in order to improve economic, technical and scientific co-operation betweenboth countries", he concluded.
