Head of State regrets death of adm. Rosa Coutinho

Luanda - The Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, Friday in Luanda, on behalf of the Angolan people and on his own, expressed grief for the death of adm. Rosa Coutinho, on Wednesday, of disease.
According to a press release delivered to Angop, the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, characterised the deceased as a "brave, righteous man and endowed with a great sense of justice which always led him to fight for the noble causes of humanity."
In the letter, sent to the bereaved family, the head of State also stressed the role of Antonio Alva Rosa Coutinho in the process of the country's Independence.
According to the President, late admiral Coutinho will forever be linked to our recent history and we will never forget his valuable contribution that made Angola to be part of the nations as a free and independent country."
António Alva Rosa Coutinho, 84, joined the National Salvation Junta, under the Council of the Revolution and led the process of dismantling of dismantling of the PIDE-DGS (former colonial Portuguese secret police) and the Portuguese Legion.
