Police demine 800 square metres at border zone

Ondjiva – The Demining Brigade linked to southern Cunene Province’s Border Police has demined 800 square metres of the border area between the landmarks 32 and 34, culminating in the clearance of several explosive devices.
This information was passed last Friday to ANGOP, by the spokesman of the National Police in Cunene, superintendent Claros dos Santos, when presenting the weekly operational report of the corporation.
He said the brigade has been given the main task of removing non detonated explosive devices at the Angola/Namibia border zone, aimed at ensuring a safe flow of people and goods.
The mentioned brigade is made up by 69 sappers and will be doing demining works in the southern provinces of Namibe, Cunene and Kuando Kubango.
