Vice-president of the Republic furing the moment of oath
Luanda – Manuel Domingos Vicente, second of MPLA list of August 31 general elections, was sworn in this Wednesday in Luanda as Vice-president of the Republic.
The inauguration act was led by the presiding judge of the Constitutional Court, Rui Ferreira, according to the Angolan Constitution and it took place at Luanda’s Republic Square near by the Memorial monument of Dr. António Agostinho Neto.
With his hand laid on the Constitution, Manuel Vicente, swore in his honour to perform with dedication the tasks, comply and enforce the compliance with the Constitution of the Republic of Angola and laws of the country.
He also swore to defend the independence, sovereignty, unity of the nation, territorial integrity of the country, democracy and promote the stability, well-being and social progress of all Angolans.
The Vice-president is an assistant to the President of the Republic in the exercising of the executive function.
