Territory Ministry prepares spelling norms manual

Luanda - The Ministry of Territory Administration has been working in the preparation of a manual of spelling and protocol norms of Angolan national symbols, announced last Friday, in Luanda, the incumbent minister, Bornito de Sousa.

The minister made the announcement during the presentation of the theme “The use of national symbols” at the 8th Consultative Council of the Youth and Sports Minisrtry, which happened on 20-21 November, under the motto “Certainty in the youth, firmness in sports”.

Bornito de Sousa also spoke about the incorrect use of the national flag, as well as made clarifications about the insignia of the Republic of Angola. He further announced a new more correct version of the National Anthem, which is to be recorded by the presidential brass band.

The minister also explained the recent changes in the spelling of the name of some locations which used to be written with letter K and now they must be written with C, as in the case of the provinces of Cuando Cubango, Cuanzas Norte and Cuanza Sul.

The ceremony was chaired by the Youth and Sports minister, Gonçlaves Muandumba, and attended by 136 delegates from the country’s eighteen provinces.
