Angola: Welfare minister reiterates fight against poverty
Luanda - The Minister of Assistance and Social Reintegration, João Baptista Kussumua, reaffirmed that the fight against poverty in the country is still the priority of the Angolan government.

Minister João Baptista Kussumua reiterates fight against poverty

Re-acting the New-Year message addressed on Monday to the nation by the Angolan President, the minister said that José Eduardo dos Santos suggested that issues related to social areas, mainly the fight against poverty, keeps their principles outlined by the government.
Regarding the repatriation of the Angolan refugees, the official told the press that so far, at least 13.000 citizens, who were obliged to flee the country by the war, looking for safer place in neighbouring countries, have returned to the country.
Still in his message, President dos Santos highlighted the public policies of the country in several domains, which were designed to respond to the population’s needs.
The facility of access to credit for micro, small and medium companies; increase of number of technical and professional centres; as well as the adoption of more effective measures to ensure youths’ first Job and access to housing are some public policies of the countries mentioned by the President José Eduardo dos Santos, designed to respond clearly to the population’s needs.
