Angola: Creation of National Social Action Council to optimize resources

Luanda - The minister of Welfare and Social Reintegration, João Baptista Kussumua, said on Tuesday that the creation of the National Social Action Council will allow to optimize financial and material resources.

João Baptista Kussumua was commenting to the press the approval of the proposal to create the National Social Council, at the end of a session of the Commission on Social Policy of the Cabinet Council, chaired by the Vice-president, Manuel Vicente.

The proposed council should bring together the National Councils of Children, of the Disabled and Elderly People.

The minister said that this body will serve for social dialogue, monitoring of implementation of state policies for children, disabled and elderly persons.

He said it is intended that the National Social Council may serve as a platform of adjustment and articulation of projects and programmes for the three vulnerable groups.

The proposal must be submitted to the Head of the Executive.
