Family minister supports anti-poverty programs
Luanda - The minister of Family and Women Promotion, Filomena Delgado, hails Thursday the implementation of complementary programs to government policies, particularly to combat poverty, to reduce cases of domestic violence.

Speaking to the press at the end of the Meeting of the Committee for Social Policy of the Council of Ministers, he said that there is a very high rate of domestic violence and impoverishment of families is reflected in the behavior of young people and adults.
During this meeting, it was reported the occurrence of 25,414 cases of domestic violence in 2015, against 16,237 of the previous year.
Filomena Delgado reported violent cases and said there are people who come to die because of bread or a hundred kwanzas.
She stressed that "the spiritual poverty often overlaps material and or vice versa."
The government official reported that the Government continues to work with various sectors of the multisectoral committee, taking into account the need to strengthen care and support for victims of violence, by increasing the number of counseling centers and host.
