Celebrations of 41st anniversary of Air Force start
Luanda - The celebrations of the 41st anniversary of the National Air Force (FAN) were opened on Friday in Luanda by the armed forces? branch commander, gen. Francisco Lopes Gonçalves Afonso.

This was during a ceremony held at the headquarters of the FAN Logistics Unit and included the inauguration of the gallery of honour for the high ranking officers of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).
The gallery is also meant to honour the FAN commanders and the heads of the Central Logistics Units and other departments of the armed forces.
Gen. Francisco Lopes Gonçalves Afonso stressed on the occasion that in the 41 years of its existence, FAN has experienced phases of evolution and development, as it has grown and recovered aeronautical infrastructure and technique abandoned by the Portuguese Air Force.
The celebrations of the 41st anniversary of FAN (January 21) will involve various recreational, cultural and sporting activities, lectures and others.
The National Air Force was created on 21 January 1976 by the first and late Angolan president, António Agostinho Neto, during a visit he paid to the Luanda Air Base.
