President appoints deputy governors for Cuanza Sul

Luanda - President José Eduardo dos Santos Thursday in Luanda appointed Demétrio António Brás Sepúlveda and Joaquim Ricardo de Almeida Júnior, as deputy governors of central Cuanza Sul.

According to a press release from the President's Civil Affairs Office, the former has been appointed as responsible for technical affairs and infrastructure and the latter to the Economy sector. 

The source adds that two appointed officials replace António da Gama Lopes Teixeira and Franklim Fortunato e Silva, respectively. 


The release further states that the president also appointed Jomo Francisco Isabel de Carvalho Fortunato to the board of  management of  Dr. António Agostinho Neto Memorial. 

According to the source, the president also appointed the Dr Agostinho Neto Memorial Higher Council, comprising the following official: Manuel da Cruz Neto (chairperson), Carolina Cerqueira (first deputy chairperson) and Maria Eugénia Neto (2nd deputy chairperson). Maria Eugenia Neto is the widower of the first and late Angolan president José Eduardo dos Santos.
