The chief commissioner Salvador Rodrigues said that the responsibilities of the corporation's officers were added as guardians of the maintenance of public order and security.

He noted that, in the exercise of the police function, the agents should have an exemplary performance, thus fulfilling one of the guidelines expressed in the message of the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief, João Lourenço, addressed to the Nation in October this year.

The high ranked police officer was speaking at the closing ceremony of the Naval Mechanics and Foreign Inspection courses, attended by agents of the Fiscal Police, Border Guard Police and cadres of the Ministry of Fisheries, lectured by the Cuban experts.

He informed that these courses aim to raise the levels of permanent technical and professional training of the personnel, to ensure effective maritime inspection and surveillance, as well as the goods that enter transit and leave in areas where the General Tax Administration (AGT) performs its function.
