Huila: Former Unita militants join MPLA in Jamba

Jamba - One hundred and thirteen former Unita militants, in the municipality of Jamba, southern Huíla province, resigned this Saturday, their party, and joined the ruling MPLA party.

The ceremony was presided over by the first MPLA provincial secretary, João Marcelino Tyipinge, who considered it the right choice, since, he said, the MPLA is the only party able to provide better living conditions for Angolans.

He welcomed the new members and recalled that the country is going to hold the elections in August, so with the entry of new members, the party will be stronger.

In resignation statement, the ex-militants of the Unita party reaffirmed that they made this decision of free will.

The MPLA municipal committee in Jamba controls 30.585 militants distributed in 432 action committees.
