Bié: Magistrate highlights police's role

Cuito - The assistant Attorney General in the central Bié province, Lucas Ramos dos Santos, called on Thursday in Cuito city for greater commitment of the staff of the Interior Ministry, with view to keeping peace and national reconciliation on face of the upcoming challenges.

The magistrate said so during a lecture addressed to the members of the managing board ando f the technical support of the provincial delegation of the Ministry of Interior, which discussed “The Role of the Bodies of Defense and Security in Peacekeeping”.

Lucas Ramos dos Santos highlighted the important role played the members of the bodies of the Ministry of Interior (Minint) in the maintaining order and tranquility.

 "The National Police must continue defending democracy, national unity, territorial integrity and, above all, participate in the maintenance of public order and tranquility", he said.

He recognized that the freedom enjoyed by the province is a result of the efforts made by the sovereignty bodies.

On the occasion, the commander of the National Police in Cuito municipality, intendant Martins Albino, was pleased with the requests of the magistrates, and promised to increase prevention measures to combat crime and reduce road accidents.
