UNITA leader happy with conditions for elections
Luanda - The leader of the opposition UNITA party Isaías Samakuva said Monday he was pleased with the announcement by the Council of Republic that conditions have been created for the President José Eduardo dos Santos to call the date for elections in August this year.

The Council of Republic met Monday under the Angolan Head of State José Eduardo dos Santos after hearing the members of this Advisory Body and unanimously decided that the general elections in the country take place on August 23, 2017.
Isaias Samakuva, who was speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, said that the date suggested for election was considered appropriate by the members of Council of Republic.
In general aspects the conditions are set for the August elections, said UNITA leader, who could not help but mention some aspects to be tackled before the process.
