Angola: CNE chairperson pleased with electoral process pace

This was said on Tuesday in Luanda by the chairman of the National Electoral Commission (CNE), André da Silva Neto, when speaking at “Grande Entrevista” programme of the Angolan Public Television (TPA).
The official stated that there is good internal environment for the functioning of the institution, considering it an extremely healthy fact.
“Of course we are men and have our failures and imperfections, nevertheless the CNE actions are running well”, stressed the official.
He added, though some political parties have their own strategies and created disturbances in some cases to CNE, still these have not impacted on the functioning of the process.
The general election in Angola will take place on August 23.
So far, the political parties and coalitions are submitting their candidacy process to the Constitutional Court.
The parties of MPLA, UNITA, APN, FNLA and the coalition CASA-CE have already formalized their candidacies for the election set for August 23.
