Cuando Cubango: Army chief reaffirms support for electoral process
Menongue - The commander of the Angolan Land Forces, gen. Gouveia João de Sá Miranda, Wednesday in Menongue reassured the support of the Armed Forces (FAA) for the general election of 2013 August 2017.

Speaking to journalists during a working visit to the 5th Motorised Infantry Division in southern military region, gen. Miranda recalled that the support for the Government with the electoral process is legally established.
He stated that the Angolan Armed Forces have been assisting the electoral process with air, land and security means.
Right now, according to him, his department has been urging the staff to remain organised and exercise their citizenship right to vote.
This is gen. Sá Miranda’s first working visit since appointed FAA army commander and is meant to check on the readiness of the staff for the country’s current challenges.

Matala - Army Commander General Gouveia João Sá Miranda said Wednesday that all conditions are being created for the troops to be able to actively participate in the August elections, as a means of fulfilling their duty as a citizen.
