Private university students discuss elections and citizenship
Cabinda - Students from various Angolan private universities last Saturday in the northern Cabinda Province?s capital were gathered making an analysis of pertinent socio-political topics like the education system, elections and citizenship.

The meeting - which was held under the motto “University students, united for peace and democracy, let us all vote” – was organised to promote a broad participation of students in the activities linked to the country’s participatory democracy and social development tasks, as well as to stimulate responsible citizenship.
The participants in the event discussed topics like “Socio-economic development of Cabinda Province and the gains in the sector of education”, and “Students and the elections”, among others.
On the occasion, the governor of Cabinda Province, Aldina da Lomba Catembo, highlighted the role of higher polytechnic institutes in training cadres in different areas of knowledge and appealed to higher education institutions to invest in scientific research.
She also seized the occasion to call on young people to massively participate in the electoral process that will culminate with the casting of the ballot on August 23, this year.
