Isaías Samakuva was speaking at the opening of a meeting meant for the presentation of Unita’s 130 candidates for the National Assembly (Parliament).

He said it is high time a message of hope is transmitted to the country in view of big challenges lying ahead.

The politician spoke of the relevance and responsibility of the MPs in feeling the people, reiterating Unita’s intention of forming an Inclusive and Participative Government (GIP).

Samakuva stated that time has come for an end to the suffering of the people, adding that should Unita win the election, Angola would have new systems of education, health, economy and a higher living standard.

The list of 130 candidates is made up by a large part of current figures and MPs, but includes independent names like those of the activists David Mendes and Raul Taty and politician Sediangani Mbimbi.

Unita’s governing programme focuses mainly on huge investment in agriculture, electricity and water, education, health, infrastructure and assistance to ex-combatants.
