This was expressed by the head of mission, Augustine Mahiga, explaining that SADC adopted the long-term election observation method, which means that it will continue observing the post-election period until 31 August.

In its communication, SADC highlights some recommendations made, namely the National Electoral Commission (CNE) to be responsible for electoral registration.

It has recourse to Article 107 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Angola, which provides for the organization of elections by an independent electoral administration body.

The CNE was also recommended to educate and sensitize voters and simplify the procedures for inspecting and verifying electoral rolls.

In addition to the SADC, the general election of 23 August in Angola was monitored by representatives of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), the African Union (AU) and the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP).
