Elections/2017: MPLA continues taking strong election lead
Luanda - MPLA still takes a commanding lead in the country's 23 August elections, with provisional results pointing to 61.10 percent of the votes cast.

According to updated provisional data, presented by National Electoral Commission (CNE) spokesperson, Julia Ferreira, UNITA comes second with 26.71.
The third ranked CASA-CE coalition has 9.46 percent of the total votes counted.
The results released are related to 94,807 polling stations (97.38 %) out of a total of 25,474 in a universe of 9.3 million voters registered throughout the Angolan territory.
