Zaire: INAD begins demining of power transmission line

Mbanza Kongo - An extension of 4.2 million square meters for the installation of an electric power transmission line on the Mbanza Kongo/Cuimba road section, Zaire province, is being demined since this month of September by the National Institute of Demining (INAD).

The information was provided on Thursday to Angop by INAD head of provincial department, Necreto Francisco, stressing that the work to clear the perimeter began on September 7 and should be concluded by the end of the year.

According to him, six unexploded explosive devices of different calibers, including two 40mm beetle grenades, an equal number of 60mm mortars, an 80mm mortar, an RPG7 ratchet and more than three thousand different metals have been removed along the section.
