In Benguela, the agenda of the Head of State includes a visit to the Lobito refinery project, which has been paralyzed for a year, due to financial reasons.

With the project in place, Angola, the second largest oil producer in Africa will save nearly 150 million Euros monthly on imported refined fuels.

The Local Government Council (CGL), whose first working session is held in Benguela, is a collegial body auxiliary to the President of the Republic, in formulating and monitoring the implementation of the government policies of the State Administration at local level.
