The recommendation is part of a communiqué distributed to the press in the end of a meeting of the Economic Commission of the Cabinet Council chaired by President João Lourenço, which was held last Thursday in Dundo City, north-eastern Lunda Norte Province.

The Head of State also recommended the elaboration of projects for the construction and refurbishment of schools.

Meanwhile, at the opening ceremony of the 2018 Academic Year, held on 01 February this year, the Head of State announced the commitment to work with the National Assembly, mainly the largest parliamentary bench (MPLA party) to find the best ways to increase the budgetary allocation for the sectors of education and health.

ANGOP has learnt that the presidential initiative was prompted by the information that there are about two million children running the risk of being left out of the 2018 school year and the existence of about 13,000 teachers that need integration in the education system.

The Angolan Head of State fulfilled a two-day work visit to the north-eastern Lunda Norte Province, which started on Wednesday morning, during which he visited productive and social undertakings, as well as held a meeting with the governors of the country’s eastern provinces, namely the provinces of Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul and Moxico.
