Angolan ambassador to Portugal begins Tour of Duty
Lisbon - Angolan diplomat Carlos Alberto Saraiva de Carvalho Fonseca has presented his credentials to the Portuguese Head of State, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on Wednesday, beginning tour of duty as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Angola in the Republic of Portugal.

Carlos Alberto Saraiva de Carvalho Fonseca - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Angola in the Republic of Portugal
Appointed on May 17 of this year, by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, Carlos Fonseca replaced José Marcos Barrica, who was exonerated by presidential decree on 23 April.
Ambassador Carlos Alberto Saraiva de Carvalho Fonseca has already served as Secretary for Diplomatic Affairs and International Cooperation of the President of the Republic during the term of José Eduardo dos Santos.
Portugal é um dos principais parceiros comerciais de Angola. As empresas portuguesas têm uma forte presença na economia angolana, fundamentalmente, nos sectores da construção e da banca.
Portugal é igualmente um importante exportador de produtos alimentares e bebidas. Angola, por via das empresas privadas, tem vários investimentos em Portugal com actividades que vão desde a energia, telecomunicações à banca.
Actualmente, Angola é um destino para os cidadãos portugueses em busca de emprego. Um protocolo bilateral para facilitar a emissão de vistos foi assinado entre os dois países, em Setembro de 2011.
