The day was marked by the audience that the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, granted in the Angolan capital, Luanda, to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium.

At 4 de Fevereiro international airport, Didier Reynders received farewell greetings from State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry, Téte António, the Angolan ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, George Rebelo Pinto Chikoti, and the Belgian ambassador to Angola, Frank Félix.

In Luanda since Monday, the head of the Belgian diplomacy also held a meeting with the Angolan counterpart, Manuel Augusto, with whom he analyzed and envisaged new areas for exchange, with emphasis on the diamond, defense and transport sectors.

At the end of the audience with the Angolan Head of State, Didier Reynders informed that his country will expand investments in Angolan territory and announced the re-launch of the Angola / Belgium Joint Commission for 2019, in order to strengthen cooperation.

The Republic of Angola and the Kingdom of Belgium have been cooperating since 1976. On 26 April 1983 they signed an Agreement on Economic, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation which established the legal framework for the partnership and established the Joint Committee.
