New International Airport runway completed by 72 percent
Luanda - The runway 4E of new International Airport of Luanda is completed by 72.39%, said on Wednesday, in Luanda, the minister of Transports, Augusto da Silva Tomás, during a working visit by the President, José Eduardo dos Santos, to the construction site of the infrastructure.

Augusto Tomás, who was speaking on the contract work, which occupies a total area of 75.5 square kilometers, said it is near the conclusion of the navigation lighting, 4F runway and passenger terminal, mainly the steel grid in the main lounge and the glass curtain.
The government official assured that the navigation lighting will be completed by March 2016, while the 4F runway and passenger terminal are likely to be completed in September and November 2016, respectively.
Located at 42 kilometers off center of Luanda, the new International Airport will have access by road and rail, he said.
The new Luanda International Airport is designed to support 15 million passengers a year.
The construction works, scheduled to end in 2017, began in 2004.
