Construction sector with priority to use of human resources

Luanda - The new minister of Construction and Public Works Manuel de Almeida said Monday that he will focus on the relevant human resources to fulfill the tasks of the sector.

Addressing a handover ceremony, the official, who acknowledged the opportunity to develop new lines of action of the government's public policies, called for the need of proper assignment of tasks.

"It is necessary that each reinforce his action in the sense of responsibility as public agent and server of society and the people" - requested the new minister.

Also Civil Engineering graduate, Manuel de Almeida, recalled the President’s guidance on the need to work as team.

He congratulated the outgoing minister and his team on the success achieved in management.

Among the previous positions, Manuel de Almeida was professor of physics, assistant coordinator of the civil construction course and member of the Trade Union Commission at the Makarenko Polytechnic Institute in Luanda.

He was an engineer at the Hidroportos firm and head of structural department at Tecnoprojectos-UEE.

The official participated in the construction of the Capanda Hydroelectric Plant, where he headed the Technical Department, among many positions.

He is also retired member of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) with the rank of L. Colonel.

Manuel de Almeida also served as CEO of  Grotécnica-E.P and consultant to the Civil Office of the President of the Republic.

In 2016 he led the Baynes Project Office, Binancional Hydroelectric Power Plant in the Cunene River in partnership with the Republic of Namibia.
