The official said on the occasion that the situation of the ravines in Dundo city is of serious concern and will lead the Construction Ministry to study measures to curb their growth.

However, he added that there will be no deadline to completely stop the growth of the ravines, since they are a natural phenomena usually caused by the intensity of the rains.

In the meantime, the minister recommended the plantation of vegetation that may help to curb the growth of the ravines such as, eucalyptus and bamboo as well as the placement of stones in the gullies.

There are three big ravines in Lucapa stretching to Dundo, Lóvua and the one of the Caluembe river.
