Citizens plant 150 trees in Tômbwa municipality

Tômbwa - One hundred and fifty plants of the casuarina and tamarix species were planted Monday, around João Firmino Tchinanga neighborhood, Tômbwa municipality, southern Namibe province, under the environmental education programme called "my tree and I".

The action, promoted by the administration of the municipality and the Forest Development Institute (IDF) will also cover the other peripheral districts.

At the time, the municipal administrator of Tômbwa, Alexandre Niyuka, spoke of the  importance of educating citizens, especially the young, about preserving the environment.

The municipality of Tômbwa is located 93 kilometers south of the province of Namibe and has more than fifty thousand inhabitants.
