This was announced Friday by minister of Construction and Public Works, Manuel Tavares de Almeida, adding that the intervention is due to start by 2019.

The minister was speaking to the press on the sidelines of the "Forum on participation of young people and children in public works policies", held in Luanda.

He said that the implementation of this measure, called "Salvation Programme", aims to halt the full damage of the roads and avoid deeper intervention.

In order to ensure success in the process, the minister announced a nationwide survey on the conservation of roads, under the public investment programme of 2019.

"We held a survey on the state of all roads in the country, kilometer per kilometer. We found many good roads, but there are also small sections with major constraints which  need to be solved," he added.
