Luanda - The sociologist Maria Fernanda Nguenda, on Tuesday here criticised pregnant women that consume alcoholic drinks, putting at risk their own health and their babies, ANGOP has learnt.
She said excessive consumption of alcoholic drinks is a public health concern in the country, adding that pregnant women who drink alcohol during the gestation period can cause their babies to be born with a congenital malformation.
The excessive consumption of alcoholic drink is a true problems of public health, being also responsible for avoidable illnesses and premature deaths, she said.
