Cuemba municipality to have new regional hospital

Cuemba - The new regional hospital of Cuemba, a municipality located at 164 km from Cuito, central Bié province, whose works are in their final phase, is due to start operating yet in the course of this year, said on Thursday, the local administrator, Laurinda Kapocolola.

Speaking to ANGOP, the official considered that the entry into operation of the project will improve the drug-medical assistance to the population of the provinces of Bie, Moxico, Lunda Sul and Malanje.

According to the source, the regional hospital of Cuemba has a capacity of 150 beds and will provide services in the areas of maternity, pediatrics, X-Ray, HD, medicine, ophthalmology, HIV/AIDS testing and counseling services, and an area to treat tuberculosis and other diseases.

The administrator ensured that the local authorities and the Ministry of Health are working for the equipping of the hospital and the settlement of the technicians at this point, mainly, medical experts.
