Cunene: Volunteers trained in acute diarrhoea care

Ondjiva - At least 75 Angola Red Cross volunteers in southern Cunene province ended on Thursday in Ondjiva, a seminar equipping them with techniques to handle acute diarrhoea.

The seminar covered also covered subjects like breast-feeding, vector control and care in the treatment of human consumption water .

According to the head of CVA in Cunene, Regina Olga Francisco, the two-day seminar held under a partnership with the United Nations Population Fund, included volunteers from six municipalities, namely Curoca, Ombadja, Cuvelai, Cahama, Namacunde and Cuanhama.

The source added that the programme aims to train volunteers in matters related to diarrhoeal diseases in the communities affected by constant climate change, raise awareness and mobilise the population on the care they should have to handle and prevent diseases.
