ANGOP has learnt that it is an outbreak of malaria and anaemia caused by lack of appropriate sanitary conditions in the region and families beliefs in religious cure.
Cafunfo Hospital recorded five deaths of children under the age of five since December 4.
However, the minister admitted that there is a lot to be done to curb this outbreak, since the people living in the said locality are mostly of low income.
The combination of bad sanitary conditions, poverty, deficient preventive measures and other issues, pose a big challenge to the authorities in their endeavour to tackle the problem with efficacy.
Cafunfo locality has over 130.000 inhabitants.
