Deaths at Luanda general hospital drop
Luanda - The death rates in General Hospital of Luanda have declined from 5.8 percent in May 2016 to 2.8% in November 2018.

The data were released Thursday by the health institution’s Director General, Carlos Zeca, who said the drop owed to the improvements in health care and medicines.
Carlos Zeca confirmed this to the press at the end of the socialization meeting the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, held with hospitalised kids, dubbed "A roda do amor - Partilhando solidariedade
The hospital was built in 2006, but in 2012, it was destroyed under the guidance from engineering experts. A new infrastructure was inaugurated in 2015.
He said that despite the fact that 80 percent of the cases in the unit are pediatric ones, the situation is calm and under control. Drugs are secured for all patients.
Malaria, typhoid fever and respiratory disease, pneumonia and diarrhea, are the main cases recorded in the hospital, he said.
During her visit to the health unit, the First Lady offered various goods to the hospitalised children.
The hospital has 450 beds - 350 for adults and 100 nurseries.
