At the meeting, guided by the acting provincial governor, Júlio Bessa, strategies were developed for the prevention and cutting of cholera spread, especially where there was a heap of garbage.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the National Police, the Armed Forces, directors of health and municipal administrators.

According to the director of the provincial Health Office of Luanda, Rosa Bessa, one of the measures relates to personal and collective hygiene, where traders are called to participate since they produce large amounts of garbage.

The population is also advised to take care of the water it consumes and should be boiled or disinfected with drops of bleach, as well as washing and sewing the raw foods well.

One of the cholera risk areas that deserve attention is the informal market in Mabunda, where perishable products are marketed.
