"Born Free to Shine" campaign launched in southern Bié Province

Cuito - The campaign "Born Free to Shine", aimed at eliminating HIV transmission from mother to child, was launched Monday in Cuito (Bié) by the provincial governor's wife, Catarina Alfredo.

Speaking to the press, the coordinator of the campaign in the region, Catarina Alfredo, said that for the success of the fight against the epidemic there is a need for a systematic fight against stigma and discrimination.


In her view, the information should be comprehensive, capable of overcoming prejudices, considering the disease as the main public health problem in the country.


The project, launched in December 2018 by the first lady of the Republic of Angola, Ana Dias Lourenço, aims to eliminate perinatal transmission of the virus to reduce mother-child death by HIV / AIDS by 2022 in the country.
