Angolan government spends millions of Euros to evacuate patients - Minister
Menongue - The Angolan government is working intensively on the training of specialized physicians in various fields to reduce the huge costs of evacuating patients abroad, said on Saturday in eastern Cuando Cubango, the Health minister, Sílvia Lutucuta.

“To perform any orthopedic surgery, accommodation, flight tickets are very expensive, it can cost roughly 15,000 Euros or more for each patient and annually it reaches 4 million Euros”, said the minister.
Meanwhile, the official explained that the country lacks specialized professionals in several fields, technical capacity and hospitals; however, a huge work is being conducted to reverse the current picture.
The minister added that the Health Ministry is committed to the training of specialized staff to increase the number of family medics, in the sectors of pediatric, gynecology, obstetric, public health, internal medicine and anesthesia.
