The appeal is expressed in a press note, ahead of the African vaccination week to be celebrated from 22 to 28 April.
The sector reiterates the importance of routine vaccination, describing it as key tool for strengthening primary health care and universal health coverage.
According to the note sent to Angop Friday, the Angolan Executive, with support from international partners such as the Global Alliance for Vaccines (GAVI), the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Unicef, has highlighted actions such as interventions to improve public health indicators.
Over the years, the country has been reinforcing the schedule of routine vaccination with the introduction of new vaccines, such as the introduction of pneumo, rotavirus, and more recently the vaccine against rubella and polio.
The African vaccination week is part of an initiative of the Ministries of Health to encourage the use of vaccines as a way to protect people of all ages against different diseases.
During this period, MINSA has focused on several activities, under the motto "the vaccines operate so give your contribution".
The objective is to reinforce routine vaccination and improve health indicators to ensure a vaccination system that reaches all people, particularly children.
