Government seeks funding for regional hospital

Mbanza Kongo - Ministries of Health and Finance are working to find sources to finance the completion of works at the Zaire regional hospital in Mbanza Kongo, whose physical execution is around 80 percent.

This information was released on Friday by the Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, stressing that precise recommendations have been given in this direction by the Head of Government, João Lourenço.

Speaking to ANGOP, the minister stressed that the resumption of work on this project, paralyzed four years ago, is undetermined and depends on the mobilization of financing.

The Zaire regional hospital, with a capacity of 400 beds, began to be built in 2013, in an area of 12 thousand square meters, of the 27 thousand square meters of the total space of the project.

The hospital infrastructure, located on the outskirts of the city of Mbanza Kongo, will include 18 laboratories of various medical specialties, nine operating rooms, training center for 20 classrooms, independent pediatrics and medical shelters.
