These are technician admitted in 2018 public tender, being 21 general practitioners, 266 high nursing technicians, and the other therapeutic technicians placed in the areas of clinical analysis, imaging, radiology, pharmacy and physiotherapy.

Speaking to ANGOP, the head of the Benguela municipal health department, Garcia da Costa, said that the bet is to allocate the largest number of technicians in the most remote areas of the municipality, especially Ukendi, Kapilongo, Uchi, Talamajamba, Mina and Caota, where the health units were provided by only one technician, currently numbering four.

The official said that the technicians will also allow the functioning of the delivery rooms in these areas, in particular that of Caota (Baía Farta), inaugurated more than four years ago and that was not working due to lack of human resources.

Garcia Costa assured that nurses selected for that health unit will benefit from a 45-day internship at the Benguela General Hospital maternity ward.
