President Jose Eduardo dos Santos re-inaugurates Coqueiros Stadium, in Luanda

Luanda, 07/17 - The Coqueiros Football Stadium located in Luanda, which has been completelyrehabilitated, was this Sunday afternoon re-inaugurated by the Angolan Head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos.
The rehabilitation works, which started in 1999, are estimated at 18 million US dollars.
With this, the stadium has now more modern characteristics, the number of seats were increased from 4,000to 8,000, including four ticket offices, a restaurant, several shops, an electronic placard, vip booths, a tartan track with equipments for all types of athletics, as well as toilets adapted for easy access by disabled people.
The ceremony was also attended by the First-Lady, Ana Paulo dos Santos, the National Assembly Speaker,Roberto de Almeida, the Prime Minister, Fernando Da Piedade Dias dos Santos, the governor of Luanda, JobCapapinha, and representatives of the Judicial Power, as well as MPs, church officials, and representatives of sportsassociations.
During the reinauguration ceremony of the stadium, which was first inaugurated in 1947, the Ministry of PublicWorks symbolically handed the stadium to the Provincial Government of Luanda, which is the entity that will manage and guarantee the servicing of this undertaking.
To mark the re-opening of the stadium a match between Benfica and Progresso is taking place this Sunday,counting for the National First Division Soccer Championship.
