Retrospect2013: Construction of parliament new headquarters seen as largest project in Ingombota

Luanda - The conclusion of the works of the new building of the National Assembly is the most outstanding project in 2013 in the urban district of Ingombota in Luanda.

At this time, the building of the work, which started in May 2010, is already at an advanced stage, almost completed the construction of the physical structure of it. For the final delivery of the work some architectural details, special technical installations, internal and external repairs and equipping of it must be completed.

Located in the saneamento neighbourhood, commune of Kinanga, whose cornerstone had been laid by the President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, the construction work of the referred infrastructure is estimated at about 200 million Kwanzas.

The building comprises room for plenary sessions for around 800 people, with an area reserved for the high table with 52 seats.

In the new building, the Angolan MPs will have available rooms for individual and collective work and library, among other conditions.

The new headquarters of the National Assembly of Angola is a complex consisting of three main buildings and two parking spaces for 503 vehicles.

With an estimated population of approximately 450.000 inhabitants, the referred urban district occupies an area of ??13.000 square meters and is composed of the communes of Ingombota, Patrice Lumumba, Ilha do Cabo ,Kinanga and Maculusso.
