Moxico governor visits social projects in Luau

Luau - The governor of the eastern Moxico province, João Ernesto dos Santos "Liberdade", visited on Sunday border municipality of Luau the social works underway that region, as part of the Programme for Fighting against Poverty and Public Investments.

João Ernesto dos Santos started visiting the construction works of four schools in the localities of Capango, Luhemba, Mucussueji and at the land reserves, outskirts of Luau municipality, whose works will end in August this year.

The governor also checked the expansion works of public lighting system, municipal hospital, with the capacity of accommodating 62 patients, as well as the facelift works of the municipal administration.

Still in Luau, the official met with the members of the municipal administration, aimed to hear their concerns and left necessary guidelines to improve the basic social services provided to the local population.

Moxico is the largest province of the African nation of Angola. It has an area of 223,023 square kilometres and covers 18% of the landmass of Angola. The province has a population of approximately 700,000 (2013 est.). Luena is the capital of the Moxico Province.
