Huambo: University ready to support Angosat 1 satellite installation

Huambo - The state-owned José Eduardo dos Santos University (UJES) is ready to support the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technologies in the project of installing the Angosat 1 satellite in the country.

This availability was manifested last Friday, in Huambo City, by the Principal of the UJES, Cristovão de Carvalho Ferreira Simões, at a lecture on “Angosat-1, challenges, benefits and opportunities for the academic community”, which was attended by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, José Carvalho da Rocha.

Cristovão de Carvalho Ferreira Simões said that it is a very important project for the country, since it is a decisive step for the domain of information and communication technologies, to move towards the sustainable development of the country,, where the academic community is called to make its contribution.

He reminded that the launching of Agosat 1 (Angolanan satellite), will bring about great advantages in this globalised world.

The lecture was attended by about 420 people, among government officials, educational institutions representatives, teachers and students.
