Lunda Norte: Governor reiterates priority for province development

Dundo - The governor of the northern Lunda Norte province, Ernesto Muangala, Thursday pointed out the training of staff, construction and repair of roads and electricity as among his government's priorities in the region.

Ernesto Muangala was speaking at press conference ahead of the celebration of  41st Anniversary of National Independence on November 11, 1975.

He expressed his satisfaction that the province has a Public University with graduates in various fields.

With the resumption of some works standing idle due to the lack of financial resources, the governor announced the intention to increase the number of subjects at High and Higher Education at Lueje-A-Nkonde University.

He also spoke of the expansion of the school network in general education, in addition to health infrastructure.

As for the roads, the governor said he was optimistic about the reopening of Dundo airport next year, noting that the construction works of EN-180 A and 225 connecting six, of the province’s ten municipalities, have almost been completed.

Muangala also assured the financial availability to improve the local drinking water supply system with the merger of the Luachimo and Mussungue catchment system to the Dundo city.

Ernesto Muangala also announced that the thermal and hydroelectric power plants will increase its current 40 MGW production.
