Huambo: Yeyo and Sachimbele bridges inaugurated

Bailundo - The bridges over Yeyo and Sachimbele rivers enabling the circulation of people and goods to and from Santa Ana and Ombala de Chinjamba villages, central Huambo province’s municipality of Bailundo, were inaugurated Sunday.

Bridges inaugurated in Bailundo, central Huambo province

Built with local material on concrete basis, the bridges were repaired  40 years after their destroyed during the armed conflict. The repair was part of the Poverty Fight Programme.

Repaired in two months time, the bridges are six metres long and four wide, with the capacity for 20 to 30 tons, to serve mainly the inhabitants of Santa Ana, Lutamo and Ombala de Chinjamba villages.
