The appeal was launched Thursday by deputy governor for technical infrastructure of the southwest Namibe province, José Tchindongo.

Tchindongo was speaking at a ceremony marking the national day of older persons.

He stated that this group of society needs greater care and collaboration by all, mainly young people, who must benefit from the experience on recovery of moral and civic values.

During the event, held under the motto "protected elderly people happy family", the official stressed that the Angolan Executive recognises that the elderly are an active part of Angolan society and have contributed greatly with their knowledge in conveying knowledge on the past events.
