One killed, 37 injured in road accident in Uige

Uíge - One person died and 37 others injured as result of a road accident that occurred Monday on Uíge/Quitexe road in northern Uige province.

The driver Afonso Carvalho, who fractured his right leg, said that the accident occurred when his vehicle burst one of its front tyres and skidded off the road.

The physician of Uíge hospital, Ivone Ziza Afonso Carvalho, confirmed 37 people as having been injured.

Eight people were discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for minor injuries.

The accident happened near Luquixe river, 15 kilometers south of the province's capital, Uige.
